Concrète (2023)

Created in dialogue with Megan Heeres’ extensive research, installation, and exhibition Tending Time, concrète is a new dance by Biba Bell that lands in the spaces of Core City between train tracks, tree clusters, and mound, mingling with/in landscape, architecture, and more-than-human arboreal and vegetal beings. concrète is an invitation for performers and the public to dwell, listen, and sense the possibilities of material, tangible belonging.

Tending Time is an artistic project that stretches across time and space. It wasn't constrained to the gallery space - the artworks and engagements took place throughout the Core City site. Similar to a plant dispersing its seeds over a landscape, the project was broadcast throughout many city blocks. This book, with contributions by Corrie Baldauf, Biba Bell, Vince Carducci, and Megan Heeres, serves as the roots of the project, grounding the work in specific contexts and providing the foundation to stretch and extend even further across time and space.
